Community Engagement Officer

Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 1 Project with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following positions:

2. Basic Requirement:

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Gender studies, public health, social work, Humanities, Law or any other relevant discipline from any government recognized organization. Masters’ degree in relevant field is highly appreciable.

Age: Maximum age 45 years (as on 30th June 2025)

Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in NGO/INGO setting
  • Experience on implementing or leading Sexual and reproductive health and/or Child Protection, Gender focused projects in emergency
  • Experience on working with internally displaced people
  • Minimum 2 years (experience with only evidence and relevance will count). Sound knowledge in Micro-soft office and English language (Speaking & writing).

3. Contract Information:

Salary and Others: Consolidated Remuneration Tk. 47,500 (per month). Yearly 15 days paid leave excluding public holidays and training opportunities for career development.

4. Job Assignment in Brief:

1. Primary Responsibilities
  • Fully responsible to lead overall camp level program and staffs
  • MPCAC operations on a regular basis and provide constructive feedback and suggestions to the team. Monitor timely implementation of the MPCAC and Outreach activities
  • Work with teams and communities to develop appropriate prevention and awareness-raising/behavior change strategies.
  • Proper guidance to ensure PSS, PFA, Case management, referral service for survivors
  • Fully responsible for Monthly Report/weekly report/project completion report both English and Bangla by project duration.
  • Should have strong data management capacity; have to submit weekly, bi weekly, monthly report and sub sector report in due time ensuring authentication.
  • Coordinate with local and international NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support for survivors,
  • Ensure maximum visibility of the agency amongst the National/INGO’s and community.
  • Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization’s Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure budget execution with meaningful program implementation and accountability.
  • Provide technical support on the design of services and activities for Children/adolescent girls and support its program staffs and organization considering change of implementing trends.
  • Regularly attend in CP/GBV sub-sector and site management/CiC office meeting and communication with CiC office regularly.
  • Keep effective internal/external communication and close collaboration with office supervisor.
  • PSEA: No involvement with SEA issue/mutual relationship. GNB maintain “0” Zero tolerance on PSEA and child protection concern”.
  • Ensures effective implementation of the project activities as per the set plan of action and as per the donor requirement.
  • He/She will liaise directly with other service providers working and communities where the project is implementing and facilitate referrals to other service providers (health including Mental health, Shelter, NFIs and /or legal providers, etc.)
  • Ensure Do No Harm analysis is carried out and the principle of Do No Harm is observed and upheld in all the engagements of the Case Worker.
2. Secondary Responsibilities
  • Arrange capacity building events for the project team members.
  • Mentor and support staff professional development and foster a positive team spirit to encourage innovative and quality programming
  • Be familiar with accountability and Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). monitoring and reporting of complaints and feedback as per GNB complaints mechanism policy
  • Committed to GNB Core Values and Mission. Committed to GNB Core Values, Mission, GN Code of Conduct, HR Policy and PSEA instructions
  • Responsible for the selection and supervise all project volunteers working in the MPCAC
  •  Produce monthly data and regular narrative reports for different stakeholders as well as office.
  •  Maintain positive coordination and relationship with other partners in the field to promote holistic approach to case management
3. Other Responsibilities
  • Any other duties required by project authorities.

5. Capacity Requirement:

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of CP, GBV and humanitarian principles
  • Have good leadership, conflict management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
  • Strong problem identification, analytical, solving skills and adaptability with situation.
  • Experience in working with communities and local governments, INGOs and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
  • Have good skill and knowledge on CP, GBV/MHM related Concept Note/Project Proposal writing
  •  Have practical experience in humanitarian related work.
  • Positive attitude towards social service and adaptability to organizational vision and values
  • Ability to deal with community people with a positive manner and mentality to work for the marginal people
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with external partners and capacity to interact in a multicultural environment.
  • Agile working mindset and adaptable to fast changes

  • Excellent knowledge on MS Office
