The second quarter of 2025 has been a remarkable period for Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB), marked by innovation, impact, and collaboration across education, environment, gender equality, and community development.
🌱 Environment: Earth & Us Campaign 2025
To celebrate World Environment Day, youth members from 17 Community Development Projects led the Earth & Us Campaign under the theme “Our Land, Our Future.” Through tree plantation, school cleaning, and plastic exchange fairs, over 2,000 youths planted 4,647 trees and promoted sustainable habits for a cleaner, greener Bangladesh.
📚 Education: Learning Beyond Classrooms
Education remained at the heart of GNB’s mission.
- The Global Youth Network connected 90 students globally, enhancing cultural exchange and SDG awareness.
- The Knowledge Center Establishment Project revitalized school libraries into vibrant learning hubs in coastal areas, engaging 1,224 students and boosting attendance rates to over 93%.
- The UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development Project equipped teachers with ICT tools, training, and mentorship—impacting over 3,400 students, teachers, and guardians.
🌊 Partnership for Sustainability: CHRETC Project
GNB partnered with JAGO NARI to launch the Coastal Harmony: Resilient Ecosystems, Thriving Communities (CHRETC) project, benefiting 283,000 people in the southern coastal region through afforestation, ecosystem management, and women-led livelihood initiatives.
👩👧 Gender Equality & Protection
From GBV prevention in Rohingya camps to the Better Life for Girls Project, GNB advanced gender equality and created safe, dignified spaces for adolescent girls, directly benefiting over 900 individuals and inspiring open dialogue on menstrual health and rights.
💧 Safe Water, Healthier Lives
With support from the Embassy of Japan, GNB inaugurated a Safe Drinking Water Supply Facility in Barguna, ensuring clean water access and reducing waterborne diseases for local communities.
💪 Empowering Lives
Through cooperatives and income-generating activities, over 36,000 women now lead small enterprises and cooperatives—transforming debt into dignity and empowerment.
These achievements reflect the tireless dedication of GNB’s team, partners, and communities. Together, we continue to empower people, protect children’s rights, and build a sustainable future for all.
