Walk-in Interview for Manager (CDP/Program)

Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 5 Projects with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following positions:

Position: Manager (CDP/Program)

1. The purpose of the position:

 a) To lead the CDP in close communication with the community, community leaders, local government and other stakeholders

b) To build and maintain strong team culture in the CDP office

c) To work as a responsible representative of the head office in the community

d)  To implement organizational plans, decisions, goals by maintaining strong communication with the staff and community

e) To build and maintain necessary networks for the CDP’s success.

 

2. Basic Requirement:

 

a) Education: Master’s Degree preferably in Social Science, Development Studies, Development Economics, Environmental Science & Disaster Management.

b) Age: Minimum age 30 years and maximum age 40 years (as on 31st October 2024)

c)  Experience: Minimum 5 years (experience with only evidence and relevance will count)

d)  Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

e) Budgeting & Financial Management: Experience in project budgeting, resource allocation, and financial reporting.

f)   Compliance & Reporting: Knowledge of regulatory and partnership compliance, monitoring and reporting skills.

g)     Leadership Skill: Ability to lead teams and to work with the marginalized community people for their capacity enhancement 

h)     Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve project challenges effectively.

i)     Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with local authorities, non-profit organizations, and community groups.

j)    Office Culture & Environment: Ability to work in a multi-national and multi-cultural office environment.

3. Contract Information:
Consolidated Remuneration: Tk.40,000 -50,000 (per month)
Contract Period: 2 years (including minimum 6 months’ probation period)

 

4. Job Assignment in Brief:

 

v Primary Responsibilities:

a)    Project Designing, Planning & Implementation: Designing and understanding the necessity of new projects and implement the community development projects according to the organizational goals/requirements.

b)  Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local communities, understanding their needs and ensuring project alignment with those needs with community resource mobilization.

c)   Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between community members, partners, and higher management, ensuring top-down and bottom-up communication flows.

d)    Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks or challenges to the success of the CDP.

e)     Compliance & Evaluation: Ensure on legal and regulatory requirements and evaluate the project’s impact and success.

f)     Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and transparency.

g)    Team Leadership: Lead and manage project teams, ensuring alignment with objectives and timelines.

h)    Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress, prepare regular reports, and present outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.

i)  Networking and partnership buildup: Maintaining efficient networking and partnership with community resource, local government and non-governmental organizations.

 

v  Secondary Responsibilities:

 

a)     Staff Engagement: Effective staff management to keep members sufficiently involved and motivated

b)    Staff Capacity Development: Provide guidance and training to CDP personnel, enhancing team skills and knowledge.

c)     Resource Mobilization: Assist in identifying additional resources and funding opportunities to support project goals.

d)     Documentation & Record Keeping: Ensure accurate documentation of project activities, decisions, and outcomes.

e)    Cross-functional communication: Work in collaboration with different sectors and sector heads as per project needs.

f)     Community Feedback Integration: Facilitate bottom-up feedback from communities into project strategies and improvements.

g)    Administrative Support: Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to project operations.

h)     Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work in any place in Bangladesh.
