Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 1 Project with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Project Location: Taltali Upazila, Barguna and Kalapara Upazila, Patuakhali

Project Name: “Coastal Harmony: Resilient Ecosystems, Thriving Communities (CHRETC)”

Project Duration: Above 3 years

1. The purpose of the position:

  • To assist in design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems for a partnership-based project.
  • To ensure effective data collection, analysis, reporting, and utilization to improve program quality,
  • To ensure accountability, and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • To ensure compliance with donor requirements and contribute to learning across the project.

2. Basic Requirement:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree preferably in Social Science, Development Studies, Development Economics, Environmental Science & Disaster Management.
  • Age: Maximum age 35 years (as on 30 June 2025)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of working experience in M&E sector in NGO. (experience with only evidence and relevance will count).
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative M&E methodologies.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bangla and English.
  • Budgeting & Financial Management: Experience in project budgeting and reporting.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve project challenges effectively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Office Culture & Environment: Ability to work in a multi-national and multi-cultural office environment. Positive attitude towards social service and adaptability to organizational vision and values.

3. Contract Information:

Salary and Others: Consolidated Remuneration Tk. 30,000 (per month). Plus 15 days paid leave (after probation period) excluding public holidays and training opportunities for career development.
Probation Period: 6 months (Job confirmation/ extension of probation period /Job discontinuation based on performance evaluation of the probation period.)

4. Job Assignment in Brief:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to observe activities and verify progress.
  • Observe and assess program implementation against project workplans, quality standards, and agreed-upon indicators.
  • Collect and cross-check quantitative and qualitative data through interviews, observations and documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Support partners and field staff in the use of M&E tools, indicator definitions and reporting formats.
  • Support in the use of M&E tools and guidelines and assist in training project staff on data collection, indicator tracking, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit timely and detailed field visit reports with key findings, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Ensure timely and proper documentation of project performance and activity outputs in line with reporting templates.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Participate in joint field visits, review meetings, and learning events with partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning and conducting needs assessments, mid-term reviews and end project evaluation.
  • Assist in organizing assessments, evaluations, and learning workshops
  • Assist in the development of case studies, success stories, and documentation of lessons learned
  • Support the M&E team in data analysis, dashboard creation, and preparation of donor reports as per required.
  • Administrative Support: Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to project operations.
