Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 5 Projects with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. 2. Basic Requirement:
Education: M. Com/ MBA (Accounting/Management/Finance) from any recognized University. If Individual have any extra professional degree on import and export shall get preference.
Age: Minimum age 30 years and maximum age 40 years (as on 31st October 2024).
Experience: 5 years or above relevant job experiences (experience with only evidence and relevance will count). Experience may be relaxed for the deserving candidate.
Skill: Computer knowledge (MS office), Speaking & writing skill in English
3. Contract Information:
Salary and Others: Consolidated Remuneration Tk.35,000 – 40,000 (per month). Plus 100% festival bonus, 15 days paid leave excluding public holidays and training opportunities for career development.
Contract Period: 1 year (including minimum 6 months’ probation period), extendable depending on performance evaluation.
4. Job Assignment in Brief:
1. Government & Customs Liaison: Establish and maintain communication with relevant government affairs & ministries, customs officials, shipping lines, and forwarding agents to ensure timely import consignment, compliance with customs regulations, and smooth clearance processes.
2. NGO Affairs Bureau Coordination: Coordinate with the NGO Affairs Bureau for project approvals, foreign staff work permits, and security clearances.
3. Banking & Regulatory Compliance: Manage banking requirements related to import/export, including L/C (Letter of Credit) processes, in line with customs rules and regulatory requirements.
4. Logistics & Documentation Management: Supervise and verify all import/export shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with customs requirements, and oversee logistics activities such as freight forwarding and transportation for efficient import operations.
5. Policy Adherence & Reporting: Ensure adherence to government acts, SROs, HS codes, and NGO-specific import/export policies, while providing regular reports and building organizational networks as needed.
5. Requirement:
• Should have knowledge of liaison with different stakeholders
• Strong communication skills are required.
• The ability to manage audits in accordance with standards is required.
• Willingness to work at any location within the Good Neighbors Bangladesh working area
• Experience in liaison activities in an NGO/INGO will be preferred.
