Project Manager

Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 1 Project with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following positions:

2. Basic Requirement:
Education: Master’s Degree preferably in Social Science, Development Studies, Anthropology, Development Economics, Environmental Science & Disaster Management.

Age: Minimum age 30 years and maximum age 45 years (as on 30th November 2025).

Experience: Minimum 5 years (experience with only evidence and relevance will also count).

Skill: Computer knowledge (MS office), Speaking & writing skill in English

3. Contract Information:
Salary and Others: Consolidated Salary Tk.60,000 (per month). 15 days paid leave (after probation period) excluding public holidays and training opportunities for career development.

Probation Period: 6 months (Job confirmation/ extension of probation period /Job discontinuation based on performance evaluation of the probation period.)

4. Job Assignment in Brief:
I. Project Planning & Implementation (Primary Role)

  • Lead the implementation of all project activities including:
  • Capacity development training and refresher training for volunteers
  • Distribution of DRR materials
  • Conducting awareness sessions in schools and supporting Green Clubs
  • Organizing mock drills, flood monitoring installations, and DRR infrastructure construction
  • Livelihood support: EDT training, IGA training, and distribution of inputs and subsistence allowances
  • Beneficiary selection for DRR and livelihood interventions
  • Implementation of FbF (Forecast-based Financing) distribution to beneficiaries

II. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Organize quarterly coordination meetings with UDMC, WDMC, CPP, Volunteers and local govt. representatives.
  • Maintain communication with DRR offices, weather forecasting agencies, and local government authorities.
  • Ensure timely dissemination of early warning messages through volunteers.
  • Strengthen linkage among service providers, beneficiary groups, and project stakeholders.

III. Staff Management & Capacity Building

  • Supervise project staff and community resources.
  • Facilitate training for project staff & community resources on DRR, Anticipatory Action, and Climate Adaptive Livelihood.
  • Provide technical guidance for field teams and ensure quality assurance of all activities.

IV. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Lead baseline, midline, and endline surveys.
  • Ensure regular monitoring through field visits and community-based monitoring systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, case stories, PR materials, and impact videos.
  • Ensure external audit support through proper financial documentation and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal, regulatory and donor requirements.

V. Financial Management

  • Oversee budget planning, utilization, and expenditure tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, external audits, and documentation of electronic fund transfers (EFT).
  • Verify financial records for IGA support, beneficiary assistance, and distribution-related costs.

VI. Procurement, Logistics & Operations Management

  • Support procurement processes as per organizational policy
  • Oversee office operations, logistics, procurement, and asset management.
  • Ensure proper management of boats, equipment, and materials during emergency response months (July–September).
  • Monitor renovation and construction works (cyclone shelters, raised plinths, bamboo lofts).

VII. Communication & Visibility

  • Oversee project communications, visibility materials, newsletters, banners, IEC materials, and case stories.
  • Support development of documentary videos and lead national-level result-sharing seminar preparations.

5. Capacity Requirement:

  • Project Cycle Management Skills: Strong skills in Project Cycle Management. Able to design, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and report on projects effectively.
  • Managerial Capacity: Ability to lead large, multi-component, multi-location projects, Strong human resource management and conflict resolution skills, competence in managing budgets and ensuring donor compliance.
  • Technical Capacity: Skilled in planning, implementing, and reporting DRR and climate-adaptive livelihood activities, with strong knowledge of anticipatory action, EWS, DRR tools, and climate-smart practices.
  • Operational Capacity: Experienced in managing community events, trainings, distributions, and small constructions; strong in beneficiary selection and database management.
  • Communication & Coordination: Effective in coordinating with government and community stakeholders, delivering trainings, and producing quality field reports.
  • Monitoring & Accountability: Capable of field monitoring, supporting MEAL, ensuring accountability, and reporting risks promptly.
  • Behavioral Competence: Proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills, high integrity, and commitment to Child Protection, Safeguarding, and inclusivity.
