Project Officer

Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC).Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 2 Projects with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following positions:

2. Basic Requirement:

Education Required: Master’s degree in social sciences, Gender studies, Public health, Social work,

Humanities, Law or other related discipline.

Age: Age maximum 45 years (as on 31 December 2024)

Experience: 2 years’ experience in NGO/INGO setting (experience on implementing Sexual and reproductive health

and/or Gender focused projects in emergency and working with internally displaced people)

Preference: Only qualified ‘Male’ candidates are eligible to apply.

3. Contract Information:

Salary and Others: Salary Package for this role is 54,480 BDT (Consolidated)

• Create and maintain a positive and fruitful relationship with School management committee, School students, staffs and the general community.
• Carry out community sensitization, awareness raising and education activities in the Schools.
• Ensure Facilitates supports to girl’s student and arranging awareness program within time frame

• Engage Girls students and SMC on awareness and prevention related activities.
• Work closely with the construction engineer, vendor, School management committee and others.
• Prepare program execution plan, purchases completion, budget analysis, Vendor selection, Construction budget forecasting and expenses analysis.
• Monitoring construction works to ensure timely completion of works as per planned schedule.
• Try to Co-ordinate and solve construction related problems by sharing with project office, Construction engineer.
• Prepare weekly progress report, implementation monitoring & supervision and report to project office responsible persons.
• Ensure that all program activities, Quality of construction materials used and proper curing & nurturing of construction
• Establish regular commination and liaison with DC/UNO, SMC, Vendor, NGOs, local organizations.
• Proper communication with vendors and contractors, engineer, Regular correspondents with project office.
• Target plan for achieving the project goal, Maintain all relevant documents properly with evidence, other responsibility as per management decision

2 Secondary
Responsibilities
• Sound knowledge on GBV core concepts and humanitarian principles
• Have good leadership, conflict management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
• Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
• Experience in working with communities and local governments, INGOs and other key internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.

3 Other Responsibilities Any other duties required by project authorities

 

5. Capacity Requirement:

• Sound knowledge and understanding of WASH and humanitarian principles

• Have practical experience in humanitarian related work.

• Good communication skills.

• Experience in working with communities.

• Can follow the working plan and program strategies

• REQUIRED: Fluent communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla, Rohingya/Chattogram.

• Strong belief in and commitment to human rights and gender equality.

• Willingness to live and work in difficult and rapidly changing conditions.

• Constructive and pro-active communication with a wide variety of actors and stakeholders.

• Positive attitude towards social service and adaptability to organizational vision and values
