GNB Highlights Youth Development at the 1st RCASBC International Conference 2026

Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) participated in the 1st RCASBC International Conference 2026, held at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, bringing its experience in youth development and community engagement to discussions on human security and community resilience.
At the conference, Bartin Gomes, Country Head of Good Neighbors Bangladesh, shared insights on the topic “Assessing the Impact of Good Neighbors Bangladesh’s Youth Development Initiatives on Human Security and Community Resilience.” His presentation highlighted how empowering young people can contribute to safer, more inclusive, and resilient communities.
Empowering Youth to Create Meaningful Change
Good Neighbors Bangladesh recognizes young people as essential contributors to sustainable development. Through its youth development initiatives, GNB creates opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, participate in community activities, raise awareness of children’s rights and protection, and contribute to positive social change.
GNB’s approach engages young people in a range of activities, including leadership development, volunteering, child protection awareness, climate action, nature conservation, advocacy, and career development. These initiatives help young people strengthen their skills, take on responsibilities, and become more actively involved in addressing challenges within their communities.
By encouraging youth participation and leadership, GNB aims to nurture a generation of informed, responsible, and engaged citizens who can contribute to community development and social well-being.
Connecting Youth Development with Human Security
Human security encompasses the conditions that enable people to live with dignity, safety, and opportunities for a better future. Young people play an important role in advancing these conditions through their participation in community initiatives, advocacy, and collective action.
GNB’s youth development initiatives seek to strengthen young people’s awareness, capabilities, and opportunities to contribute to their communities. Activities promoting child protection, environmental responsibility, climate action, and community engagement help young people recognize local challenges and participate in efforts to address them.
These initiatives also create opportunities for young people to develop practical skills, build relationships with community stakeholders, and take part in activities that support more inclusive and resilient communities.
Building Resilient Communities Through Youth Leadership
Community resilience depends on the ability of people to work together, respond to challenges, and adapt to changing circumstances. Young people can contribute to this process by promoting environmental awareness, advocating for children’s rights, volunteering in community activities, and encouraging positive social change.
Through its programmes and community-based initiatives, Good Neighbors Bangladesh seeks to strengthen youth participation and create meaningful opportunities for young people to exercise leadership and contribute to local development.
GNB believes that investing in young people is an investment in the future of communities. When young people are equipped with knowledge, skills, opportunities, and a sense of responsibility, they can become valuable partners in building safer, more inclusive, and resilient societies.
Advancing Youth Participation for Sustainable Development
GNB’s participation in the 1st RCASBC International Conference 2026 provided an opportunity to share its experiences and contribute to broader discussions on youth development, human security, and community resilience.
The conference engagement reflects Good Neighbors Bangladesh’s continued commitment to empowering young people, strengthening community participation, and promoting sustainable development.
Good Neighbors Bangladesh believes that empowered youth can help shape a better future—not only for themselves, but also for the communities they serve.
